I'm attaching a photo of a plant growing in our neighbor's yard. I was wondering if you could tell me what it is. As you can see, it has a yellow flower and a red berry. I'm worried about children trying to eat them.
Thank you.

Renee,
this is Mock Strawberry (Duchesnea indica). It is planted as a groundcover, but it becomes very rampant and often invades lawns and neighboring properties.
Fruits look like strawberries - I see why you'd have concern about kids eating them.
They are not listed as toxic, but they are tasteless and woody - not very palatable. If you saw a child pick one and try to eat it, you probably see them spit it out soon after!
