Trees resistant to beavers #174370

Asked April 10, 2014, 7:39 PM EDT

We live on the Columbia River in Columbia County. Over the years that we've lived here, we've had at least ten trees chewed down by beavers in the middle of the night. It is quite frustrating to wake up in the morning and find a stump where a beautiful tree once was. Please give me some trees to plant that are beaver resistant .The last one we lost was a cork screw willow.

Expert Response

If you find a tree that a Beaver can't destroy let me know!
What  can be done is put wire fencing around the base of the tree, keeping the Beaver out.
