Medium to tall ornamental grasses for shady area #167635
Asked February 21, 2014, 1:51 PM EST
I live in a patio home which is only about 12-13 feet from the house next door. I want to plant some 5-6 foot ornamental grass against the neighbor's east-facing wall. There is also a 5 foot privacy fence to the north of the bed where I want the grasses. Needless to say, there isn't a lot of sun. Are there any grasses that meet my requirements? Thank you for any suggestions you may have.

Ornamental grasses are a great choice for Colorado landscapes. There are several choices that you could use in your smaller space. With containment, you might be able to get the height you need without too much spread. I am attaching a fact sheet that lists cultivars that are suitable for Colorado that you can review.
