Asked January 30, 2014, 7:30 PM EST
I have a set of pink Club Aluminum that has stains on the outside of it. How can I safely remove these stains? The pots date back to the sixties.

Expert Response
Aluminum cookware can be cleaned on the inside using creme of tartar. To remove stains and discoloration from aluminum cookware, fill cookware with hot water and add 2 tablespoons creme of tartar to each quart of water. Bring solution to a boil and simmer ten minutes. Wash as usual and dry.
For stains on the outside surfaces, you might try tooth paste and a tooth brush. If you need a larger brushing area you might try find a brush with bristles about the same hardness, stiffness as a soft tooth brush.
