I want to plant seedless ... #162539

Asked December 18, 2013, 7:40 PM EST

I want to plant seedless blackberries this year. Does "thornless" mean they are seedless? If so, what are the best varieties for the Baltimore city climate?

Baltimore City County Maryland

Expert Response

Unfortunately, there is no truly "seedless" blackberry that we know of. The 'Arapaho' variety is thornless and is touted as having smaller-than-usual seeds. Arapaho is also a good selection for our area.

Thank you for your quick response. It helped me very well. Now I can prepare my soil for the variety.
