Expert Response

The key to weaning a toddler from a bottle is consistency by gradually taking out a bottle from his/her normal schedule throughout the day.  If you have taken out the noon bottle then be sure not to give the bottle when the toddler is having a bad day.  Offer some other form of comfort instead (examples: a favorite stuffed animal, blanket, sippy cup, read a book together, etc.).  There is a wide variety of sippy cups available, so be sure to try one that you think your toddler might like best.

Remember consistency and routine are important with infants and toddlers and will help you work through weaning from a bottle to a cup.
