I've had a number of the attached beetles in my yard. They are about 1-1.5 inches long. I haven't been able to identify it. Is there anything about this beetle I should be concerned about?

Definitely a beetle and no need to be concerned. I will consult an entomologist colleague and try to get you an actual ID so that you can do some more research.
