White mushrooms in lawn look like marshmallows #154445

Can anyone help identify these white mushrooms that showed up in our lawn in Lake Oswego? They sprang up recently when the cool wet weather started and from a few feet away look exactly like marshmallows. They felt heavy and solid when I removed them and did not have a strong odor. Mainly I am concerned about their toxicity as we have small children - any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, we have seen many mushrooms coming up since the rains have started. You might even seen them in a ring or circle like formation in the lawn. Sometimes called fairy ring. You can see more information at the following link:

Some may be toxic and some might not be. If you mow them over or just break them up they will decay quickly.
