The vine, which grows on a couple deciduous trees by our lakeshore, is light red. The leaves are triple-lobed, resemble maple leaves but don't have but one point on each lobe; measure 3 1/4" x 4" all similar in size; color is medium grass green. The berries form at the end of the branch w/7 little branches that each have about 6-7 berries. Berries are smooth, shiny, light red/pinkish and measure 1 cm give or take a mm. Currently the berries are quite hard w/a grayish-white seed inside that takes up most of the space inside the skin.
We live in the Chippewa Nat'l Forest on the NW shore of Lake Andrusia. The vine is approx. 15 ft. from the shore.

Could you send us a picture of the vine?
Hope they are good enough! Lois
Are you sure the plant is a vine? The leaves and berries in the photo appear to be Viburnum trilobum, (commonly known as high bush cranberry) or a closely related species. Viburnum trilobum is a large shrub that grow 8-10 feet tall. Please compare the plant in your photo with the one shown at the following website and see it it's a match. If it's not, please reply and attach a photo that shows the entire plant.
