5-lobed leaf vine with blue flowers? #150269

Asked August 31, 2013, 12:18 AM EDT

i have a 5-lobed leaf vine with blue flowers intertwining with my tomato plants.  i had originally thought that the unidentified vine was some sort of vegetable, but no vegetables are evident and the vine is intertwining/encroaching my long-awaited tomatoes.  any idea what it is?  pictures attached.  thanks in advance.

Expert Response

This is a five-lobed morning glory.  Morning glories can have several different leaf shapes and will self-seed.
