garden flower or weed? #149140

Asked August 25, 2013, 2:59 PM EDT

This plant is growing in my flower garden. it is about 1 1/2 -2 feet high with several stems coming from center all terminating with a white flower about 3/4 diameter.  I am wondering what type of plant it is and if it is considered a weed or not.
thanks!

Expert Response

The photo of the blossom is very good, but we need to see sharp photos of the entire plant, stems and leaves to identify it.  If possible, please reply with more photos attached.  Thank you.

The plant is probably a double-flowered balloon flower--Platycodon.  We can't be sure what variety.
