Expert Response
Thank you for your question to Ask the Expert.
These berries look lie aronia to me, though I cannot be certain without seeing the whole plant. Does it grow upright and is it loaded with berries? If yes, then it is likely aronia.
These berries are edible and are highly nutritious. I like the juice, but do not care to much for the pulp, which is fairly pungent. The berries are better when the plant is irrigated, but it will survive without water. Also, it has great fall color!
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
