What is this tree or weed? #143891

Asked July 29, 2013, 12:48 PM EDT

This morning I was walking about my garden and noticed this growing in one of my raised beds. Initially when I saw it, I thought it was an overgrown clover, but once I pulled it out of the ground it was obviously not a clover. I completed a Google Image search, but was unable to find a match. Any clue on what it is? Is it worth keeping or should I dispose of it immediately? I have attached one image, but have more photos. If you need more photos to assist with the ID, please let me know. Expert Response

Hi Marc,  We can identify this plant to family, not to genus or species until it flowers. I do not believe it is a tree but rather an annual or perennial from the Fabaceae(bean/pea family).  If you let it flower, send me a photo then to the email address below and I can further identify it.  I do not recognize as one of our invasive species.

Thanks,  Amy Jo
