green ash #141973

Asked July 20, 2013, 4:31 PM EDT

At least in the Red River Valley (ND and MN), many of the green ash seem to be dying .... lower branches first and working into the crown. In addition, some of our trees appear to have trunks and older limbs that are bending excessively and cracking in the wind ... almost like the trunks are losing strength and wilting. Is it a disease or related to weather?

Many ash and other shade trees are declining from a combination of insect, disease and environmental factors.
