Asked June 25, 2013, 4:27 PM EDT
There are wild grapes growing along Buffalo Bayou in Houston, Texas near my home and I would like to confirm the identification of the grape based on the attached photos which include a scale/ruler.
Are they mustang grapes and are they edible?
Thanks.

Brad,
That is a grapevine. There are two basic types of wild grapes in our area, the standard American bunch grape and the muscadine. This appears to be a muscadine. Both are edible.
