Good picture! I first thought they were a kissing bug (from which you can get Chagas Disease from), but a friend (entomologist) helped me. He responded:
It is one of the true bugs but not in the family to which the kissing bug belongs. It is a plant feeder somewhat related to the stink bug group. I think it is in the same general group as the squash bug and is a plant feeder. I would use products labeled for the particular garden species listed for stink bugs.
