My original photo was confusing. There Is mock strawberry plants below the plant I was trying to identify. Those I know really well. However those are low and have berries.
The plant with the flower in the photo never has berries and is tall.
I've attached several more photos. The first one is a companion weed that blooms at the same time as this one and is about the same height (12-18 inches). I'd love to know what both of them are.

Thank you for the additional photos. Your plant is Geum canadense, commonly known as White Avens. As you will observe, the basal foliage of this plant resembles wild strawberry foliage, but the upper leaves have a different shape. This is a native plant and is not considered to be a pest and can be a welcome addition to a wooded landscape. This plant also resists deer pressure which may explain why it is appearing more commonly in suburban landscapes.
