Hi, after the recent extreme cold weather I noticed that my holly bushes look distressed with browning and dead looking leaves. I don’t know for sure that the cold was the cause, that is an assumption m. I’m wondering if this is recoverable and if there is anything I can do to aid the recovery of these plants?

If I aerate an area in the spring and apply a pre-emergent afterwards (We use Dimension) will the pre-emergent still be effective? I know not to aerate afterwards but I did not know if I could do it beforehand without reducing the effectiveness of the application. Thank You.

I have a Confederate Rose tree that my father planted for me close to 20 years ago. I’m moving into a new house in about 2 months, and I’m wondering if I can take the tree (or at least part of it) with me. I know you’re supposed to make cuttings and root them at a different time of year, but I didn’t know I’d be moving until two weeks ago. I don’t have access to the original tree or to the one from which the original tree was taken. I expect my current house to sell by early June at the latest, so I might not have access to my tree after that time. Any advice?

I was reading about the make your own PVC light stand for growing seedlings when I came across the light that they used. I wanted to buy the same one they used in the pictures but I couldn't find it at all. Am I looking in the wrong places or is that light discontinued?

Hello! #1 this brown stuff is on a few of my fruit fruit trees. Can you please tell me what it is? #2 my birch tree was damaged in the latest Silver Thaw. I had to cut the limb in the picture. After a week, the sap is still dripping out pretty quickly. There are a few more branches I need to trim. Should I do it at night, or just wait until Fall? Thank you, Barb Gookin

Planted this Contender Peach Tree a year ago last fall here in Fort Collins CO. Last summer it developed some severe gummosis but held on. Guessing this is Cytospora Canker? Wondering if I should attempt to trim branches and cut out wounds now or wait until after bud break when it is actively growing? Anything I can do to prevent it from spreading to a nearby peach tree? I am looking for recommendations for fast growing, tall (12 feet) shrubs to give my west facing, elevated deck some shade and privacy. They would get water from the sprinkler system run by my HOA. Please list several choices, as my HOA has to approve.
