I planted a hydrangea 3 years ago. The last 2 springs resulted in existing branches not leafing out. Leafing does however initiate at the base of the plant. Is this common to some hydrangea plants? I have a different type of hydrangea plant which does not exhibit this condition. Could you please give me some insight to this plant condition--is it normal or is there something I can do to prevent this from happening in the future ?

The first year that I planted in this garden space my tomato plants were excellent. in subsequent years, the plants start out very healthy then mid season develop yellow spots on the leaves from the bottom of the plant and it works it's way up the foliage and affects the fruit. I do not water from above. I have tried various copper fungicides, and I can't seem to stop it. I feel that it is in my soil. Can you provide any help? Thank you

Hi, I would like to obtain a list of all the bee species in Ohio (genus + species). I have seen online identification documents with bees grouped by genus, but I have not seen a list of the specific bees that live in Ohio. Can you please provide me with that? I recently learned that several bees are specialists, and I want to research which plants Ohio's bees need. If a list matching Ohio's bees to their plants exists, I would also appreciate having that. Growing a bee lawn in Medford #618593

We've been looking into transforming our front and rear lawns into "Bee Lawns". We have a number of flowering ground cover "volunteers" currently cohabiting the turf with what appears to be rye and fescue grass as well as moss. We plan to raise the mower height to 4" and scale back on the application of chemicals that are harmful to bees. What other groundcover seeds could we add into the mix as we get ready to reseed the lawn? Thanks for your advice.

Hi, I live on a 6 acre property with about 1 acre of open pasture that is currently just growing wild native grasses and weeds. I am interested in seeding with pasture grasses that I can use to feed my goats, tortoises, poultry, or also to bale hay for cattle and horses. Where do I get started? What kind of soil testing is recommended? I don't think it's worth buying hay equipment but I hope to possibly connect with a farmer who would want to use the land in exchange for some of the hay it produces. `
