I live in South east centennial- arap county- bordering douglas county.  Should I spray ash to defend against ash borer; spray pines to defend against pine beetle?  I'm getting mixed info from neighbors v companies that sell the spray service.  Also does spraying for aphids when no aphids are present do anything for trees?

How do I rid my yard of these things? They are every where in my back yard. Nothing that I've done seems to work. Last summer was horrible. Iccouldn't enjoy my yard because of these cicada killers. Any insight would be helpful. Thank you.

Azalea and rhododendron desease #157214

Hi: Many of my mature azalea and rhododendron bushes acquired a disease: very small black spots form on the back of the leaves after which the leaves start to become yellowish with light brown spots and fall. I could not identify the disease based on descriptions and as a result I do not know how to treat it. A neighbor suggested to try to spray the leaves from underneath with water with dish-washing liquid. Could you please help? Thanks in advance. P.S. We've lived in East Bethel for seven years, where we have various oak trees. Two red oaks are by our patio and deck, and this year they aren't dropping many acorns, but we're finding tiny (pea-size), orangey-white, fuzzy (like velour) balls/seeds. The inside is hard and brownish when dried; the outside is very puffy and soft. Are these immature acorns? I've never noticed anything like this before. They might not even be coming from the oak trees, but these oaks are the only large trees near the area where we're finding the mystery balls. This started this week (September 23, 2013). Thanks for any help identifying these.

I have grubs in my yard and garden. Will Milky Spore survive our winters, or will it need to be applied every year? I am looking for a long-term relative non-toxic (to cats & poultry)solution to the grub issue. Thanks.

Our condo complex in Silver Spring looks like it has a terrible infestation of sider mites all over trees and shrubs and it's spreading!!! The management is terrible and owners are concerned we will lose all of our beautiful shrubs and trees. What can we do? The trees and shrubs look as if they are covered in spider webs and the leaves are dying and have holes eaten in them. I read an article on the internet that said the county extension center may help but I can't find Montgomery County's EC. Help!!
