Hello, My lilac bush has developed this spotting and curling over recent weeks. It’s watered fairly regularly, and had been fine and healthy for the past few years up until recently. Any advice on how to help it is appreciated! Thank you!

Needing assistance with what to plant in area in Townhome parking lot with very tall homes. Would like advise re shade tress that would do Twell here as well as other attractive plantings that would soften the general appearance of this area. Trees that are not too messy re parking issues would be desirable. Would love native Maryland plantings and pollinators. Watering is not easy in this area but possible.

Unknown egg sac ? #877939

Found hundreds of white furry pea size egg sacs my Magnolia Tree. Wonder what kind of insect or organism they are and how may I control or eradicate them to save the tree from damage? Photos show the clusters and one sac cut opened. Many thanks for your advice.

Pale green and spotty leaves on newly planted White Oak tree #877737

I received 2 trees from the Rochester Hills "Canopy" program. This is a White Oak. I planted it on April 26 and it has been growing pretty well but some of the leaves have some spots on them and the leaves look very "pale." It is planted within a somewhat wooded area but it does receive at least 5 hours of direct sun per day. I have been watering it every other day if it doesn't rain (I haven't had to manually water it very much this spring/summer!) I have been spraying it with BAYER ADVANCED 3-IN-1 INSECT, DISEASE & MITE CONTROL, READY-TO-USE SPRAY but new leaves still have the spots on them. Do I need to be concerned about the condition of the leaves? What should I treat this condition with? Does in need fertilizer?

Yellow and green phlox leaves #875775

I have a number of phlox gardens. In two of my gardens I have flocks that the leaves are a mix of yellow and green. They don't look well but are producing flowers. Others in the same garden are fine. In one garden where the leaves are discolored the plants growth seems to be stunted but not in others.

Hello. There is common milkweed growing in the island of a cul de sac in my neighborhood. While many of the plants look normal, quite a few patches resemble what is displayed in the attached photo. I am wondering if this looks like milkweed yellows phytoplasma? Many thanks!

Convert a small lawn to meadow flower garden #864936

I have a small lawn which I am ready to get rid of and convert it to wildflowers. It is only about 65 " wide and and 205' long. I need to get someone to prepare the plot (if you are allowed, it you could recommend someone that would be great) and then sow the wildflower seeds. Could you recommend the type of flowers I could use. Perhaps some annuals and some perennials. All native of course. Any advice you could give me would be appreciated. Sue Venter

Disease/insect On several ornamental plants #864254

I have what looks like the same disease or insect on several plants. They started on my fall blooming camellias last year, which are three years old. I sprayed them with horticultural oil throughout the summer and they seemed better but now they look like they’re dying. The same thing Seems to be happening to my jasmine, my photinia and a very large spring blooming camellia. A separate question involves crape myrtle bark scale. I had a very small infestation last summer. The trees were treated professionally in the fall and again last month. There are still small remnants. Is this something that I need to treat for regularly?
