Hello,
I would like to grow some herbs and vegetables in containers this summer. Wondering what I need to be aware of in order to make sure the containers are safe for growing food in. I'm worried about chemicals leaching into the soil and into the plants.

I have not seen any research on the use of plastic flower pots from the University showing any harmful leaching into the soil. Avoid any ceramic glazed pots that have lead in the coating. I think you are safe using any pots designed for growing plants.
